Nutella Frosting

May 31, 2014
Oh boy.

I’m about to tell you a secret that may alter the course of our friendship forever.

I think together, we’ll be able to get past it though.

I…

have never been a huge Nutella fan.

*Audible gasps*

I don’t know what was wrong with me. I saw this recipe though, and I knew I had to try it for all of your sakes… but it turns out… I couldn’t stop eating it.

The creamiest Nutella frosting ever. It is to DIE FOR.
It was this velvet-ey, slightly chocolatey with a hint of hazelnut-ey, creamy deliciousness that I just couldn’t get enough of.

So I am proud to announce that I have turned to the dark side.

My name is Taylor Thurston and I love Nutella.

There you have it.

I piled this amazingness atop my double chocolate cupcakes – which are to die for by the way.

Nutella Frosting
This is the creamiest, most velvety, best Nutella frosting you will ever find. If you don't even want to put it on cupcakes, no one will judge you!

Ingredients
  1. 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  2. 2 cups powdered sugar
  3. 3/4 cup Nutella
  4. 3-4 Tablespoons heavy cream
  5. 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  6. salt to taste
Instructions
  1. In the bowl of an electric mixer beat softened butter on medium speed until smooth and creamy. This should take about 2-3 minutes. Add powdered sugar and beat until well incorporated. The mixture will be fairly thick. Add the Nutella and continue to beat until incorporated. Add heavy cream and vanilla and mix to combine. If the frosting is too thick for your preference add heavy cream 1 tablespoon at a time until the right consistency is reached. Likewise, if the frosting is too thin, add more powdered sugar 1/4 cup at a time. (This is the hard part) Taste the frosting and add salt, to taste.

I won’t judge you if you don’t use this on cupcakes and end up just eating it with a spoon.

No judgement here.
