Housewife’s Prayer

December 2, 2013
Have you ever heard the song, “Housewife’s Prayer” by Pistol Annies?

It’s been on re-play all day today.

Specifically the first line… “I’ve been thinking about setting my house on fire…”

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not usually a pyromaniac. I just think burning my place down would save me a lot of time and energy this week.

You see, my husband is WAAAYYYYYYY too amazing for his own good, and went and got himself a big ol’ fat promotion. (YAY TY!)

So for the 13th move in our marriage, we are packing our apartment and moving to beautiful Santa Rosa, California! Time to store all of our stuff ready for transit and leave the place in an acceptable state with the help of a cordless vacuum / Bissel, that we will most definitely be taking with us to sunny California.

I can think of 3 things that are probably more stressful than moving at almost 35 weeks pregnant.
1. Being chased by a pack of wild dogs.
2. Jumping out of a plane without a parachute on.
3. Being stranded on a desert island.

It’s healthy to put things into perspective.

In all seriousness, we are really excited about this new opportunity.

We have been in Concord for almost a year already. A YEAR, PEOPLE.

That’s the longest we’ve ever lived anywhere. It was about time to make a change or things might have started getting a little weird around here.

In all honesty, I am a little sad to be leaving the Bay Area. Living near San Francisco has been really fun, and has treated us really well. We had a lot of really great times, but it’s time for this chapter of our lives to come to a close.

I couldn’t leave without sharing a few of our favorite memories though.

This has been a great adventure for Ty and I, and we are excited for what California’s famous wine country has to offer.

Time for me to go pack.

Seriously though, if my neighbor wasn’t a nun, I might’ve just burnt this place to the ground already.
